Texas Blues Song Contest - All Welcome

Hey everybody, just a quick note to let you know that we are having a Texas Blues song contest on The Texas Blues Roadhouse. And we want to invite everyone to be a part of it.

Basically we are taking a very simple jazz tune by the great Jimmy Smith called "Back To The Chicken Shack" and letting each artist do an interpretation of the song. All submissions will be treated anonymously so that the judging will be fair.… Continue

Don't Be Anti-Social - Say Hello!!!

Hey everyone,

CCSA now has a chat room. Yeah I know. What a beat down. But hey, we are a community. It doesn't hurt any to say hello now and then. Heck, it might be fun too. And it certainly will help you connect with other members. That never hurts either.

If you are on the website, you are automatically logged into the chat room. To see the chat room, take a look at the bottom of your browser window. There is a grey banner at the bottom of the page that says "Collin… Continue

Idea: Virtual Song Critique Circle

One of the great things about a site like this is that you have so many ways to share information with other members. It really makes anything possible.

One example of this would be online song critiques. A member of the CCSA Online could write a song, record a demo version of the song and upload some lyrics (with appropriate Copyright). All you would need to do then is write a blog post about your song (like I'm doing now) and somehow embed an mp3 player so people could hear the… Continue

Short and sweet bio for me - didn't know what my character limit was:
A completely self trained musician, C. Aaron Moore began his love affair with keyboards and synthesizers at age five, playing before groups before he even had an instrument. In his performances, audiences can expect a sound both organic and digital, recalling work of artists such as Stevie Wonder, Genesis, and Bruce Hornsby. However, they can also expect him to be current and paying attention to sounds as delivered in popular music today to inform his work.

I will be playing to keyboards, so I will need a power strip (I might have one I can bring), possibly two direct boxes if I can feed directly into the board with two quarter inch plug cables (one for each keyboard). I can bring a mic, but if one is provided, I will need that as well. I will also need to know if I will be forced to pay at a specific angle or anything like that because I want to be up enough in front on the stage and angled so I can see the audience and they can see I'm actually playing these boards. If the previous set-up prohibits that, I will need to know so that I can make myself as flexible as I can.

I will write up a bio and send it shortly.
